Church Anniversary
Pleasant Hope Missionary Baptist Church was founded in 2005 under the visionary leadership of the late Rev. Reginald G. Griffin, whose faith, wisdom, and love for God’s people laid the foundation for our church family. Through his pastoral guidance, two historic congregations—New Hope M.B. Church of Vance and Pleasant Ridge M.B. Church of Lambert—came together as one, forming a unified body rooted in more than 100 years of collective history, prayer, and service. Rev. Griffin’s legacy lives on in every song sung, every soul reached, and every act of hope shared in this community. As we celebrate this anniversary, we remember the man who helped shape our beginning and give thanks for the journey we continue together.

Celebrating Our Own: Kenya Parks Honored at SHERO Gala Awards

Pleasant Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Lambert, Mississippi, is proud to announce that Kenya Parks, daughter of church members Deacon Larry Thomas and Sister Barbara Thomas, will be recognized at the 15th Annual SHERO Gala Awards on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 6:30 p.m to 10 p.m.
Kenya has turned her pain into a powerhouse of purpose. A graduate of Madison Shannon Palmer High School and Jackson State University, she is now a best-selling author, motivational speaker, and Director of Operations for Primos Café. As a survivor of sexual assault and domestic violence, Kenya uses her voice to empower women and youth through her books, workshops, "She Win, We Win" events, and the "Her Perspective" podcast.
Kenya is the visionary behind The CARE Principles (Culture, Attitude, Respect, and Energy), which she teaches in schools and businesses nationwide. Her children's book, The CARE Squad: I Am Enough, has impacted hundreds of children. She is the proud mother of Jabari Harden, her personal prayer warrior.
Please join us in celebrating Kenya's recognition at this prestigious Community Impact Awards ceremony. Her mission of faith, resilience, and service continues to inspire us all.

Youth Sunday - Sept. 14
Our enriching Sunday Service at Pleasant Hope is now held on the second and fourth Sundays of each month. Everyone is welcome to join us for a great service that starts promptly at 9 a.m. with a Sunday School Review, then we transition right into our main worship experience. We'd love for you to be a part of our growing community!
Fall Clean Up - Sept. 13
Join us for our Fall Clean Up Day as we come together to prepare the church grounds for the winter months! This is a fantastic opportunity to engage in community service while helping to maintain and beautify our beloved church. Activities will include raking leaves, cleaning flower beds, trimming bushes, and tidying up the interiors. All ages are welcome, and no special skills are required.
What to Bring:
Comfortable work clothes and gloves
Rakes and other gardening tools (if you have them)
A positive spirit and a willingness to lend a hand!
Refreshments and lunch will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there and working together to keep our church beautiful!
